Review: 'The Dirty Picture'

TDP short form of ‘The Dirty Picture’, this movie is basically based on South-Indian bold actress Silk Smitha who was the sex icon in 80s.

Vidya Balan plays a role of Silk Smitha while Naseeruddin Shah, Emran Hashmi and Tushar Kapoor are opposite Vidya Balan in the film. Milan Luthria is the director of ‘The Dirty Picture’.
Vidya balan plays a role of 80s icon Silk Smitha and is a highly powered woman who is tremendously aware of  the power her orbs wield. She does what she does. Vidya Balan totally made the character of Slik Smitha her won with the remarkable commitment to the role.
The Dirty Picture is too defiant, but in more juvenile fashion. Director Milan Luthria made a masala film to please the crowds, instead of merely a film with a great lead character. There is convoluted lines of dialogue and cartoonish sound effects. The story of the film thrill the audience halfway and never bothers to thrill again. Emraan Hashmi playing a role of artistic filmmaker, who’s dress looks like black vinyl.
Naseeruddin Shah plays a role of movie star. Tushar Kapoor plays a role of Naseeruddin Shah  younger brother, who wear cardigans that fit like muscle t-shirts with a gold chain dangling out front. Both Naseeruddin Shah and Tushar want Vidya Balan.
The first half of the film is a cracker and halfway down when approaching Silk’s fall. This film shows why Silk Smitha burn out- younger and sexier competition, disastrous commercial, drinking problem and romantic choices.
Except the last half-hour of the film is pace snappy and like any schoolboy would attest, pretty much anything can be forgiven if the breasts look good enough. Vidya Balan performance is very good in this film.
